What is your topic?
My topic is broadcasting journalism(video journalism). I am going to be focusing more on the editing part of the field since it is the career I want to pursue.
Why did you choose this topic?
I've always wanted to pursue a career as an editor of some sort. When people watch the news they don't give credit to everyone who works to make it possible for them to watch the program. If you ask someone to name positions in a newscast, they'll go for the obvious ones such as the anchor man/woman, the producer, the weather person, or the director. Many people don't realize that there are other positions besides those. For example an editor makes the intro to the program and then works sequentially towards the end of the program. Broadcasting journalism is a form of communication and the editor is the one who brings it all together helps bring the stories to life.
What do you hope to accomplish after studying this topic all year?
By the end of this year I am hoping to have a greater knowledge about broadcasting journalism. I want to go off to college and already have a complete understand of my career choice. This project will demonstrate to me if this career path is the right one for me.
Hi Jeanette- This seems well thought out. I would just say that you'll want to find experts in the field. I know this can be hard, but I'm assuming you have a start in the right direction since your dad might be able to ask around.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you want to study about editors? Your next step will be finding a focus and creating an essential question based on that. As you research, try to pinpoint what exactly you are interested in knowing more about.
Concerning your research check, your margin noting looked good. Come to pick up your folder from me tomorrow, and finish any articles that you think will be helpful. Don't forget to do your summaries before you forget.
Also, this is my fault, but you should have a list instead of an archive.
Thanks, Lorelei
