EQ

EQ:
What is the most important skill to hone when preparing for a career as a broadcast news video editor?

(1) Define possible terms in your EQ (e.g. successful, effective).
  • Important-Most likely to have a profound effect for preparing me for a career as a broadcast news editor.
  • Hone-To improve or fine-tune my editing skills
  • Skill-Ability or quality I can posses to help achieve my goal.
(2) So far based on your research, what are possible answers to your EQ?
Well, based on the research I have now, some possible answer for my EQ are:
  • Being able to use all types of editing software such as Movie Editor, iMovie,  Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premier.
  • Being able to work under pressure and being able to meet deadlines.
  • Applying Podcasting editing techniques to audio editing in video footage.

(3) What has been your most important printed source and why?
The Movie Making with iMovie book, the book covers how to use iMovie and how to use the editing tools it provides to help your video run smoothly without any glitches. Also the How to Do Everything With Podcasting book has been helpful when it comes to editing audio. Audio is tricky to edit, so the book teaches many ways to edit audio without it sounding choppy also editing out all the silences that aren't necessary.
