2. Posted Evidence (Example: For a college class, take a photo of your transcript and upload it).
3. Complete the LIA:
Literal
(a) Statement saying: “I, student name, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.”
I, Jeannette Martin, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(b) Explanation of what you completed.
I completed a total of 176 hours of service learning at Fairgrove Academy. During those hours I helped the students from Mr. Duarte's sixth and seventh period class. I was basically a teacher's aid. I went around the classroom and helped students with their projects. There are about 30 kids in each class and for many of them this is their first year taking this class so they find it challenging. So I helped many of them understand how to operate programs such as imovie, garageband, iphoto, windows movie maker, and how to use a camera.
Interpretive
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.
Applied
How did it help you answer your EQ? Be specific and use examples
There were times where Mr. Duarte allowed me to teach the class things I've learned through my senior project. For example how to use shots in a video sequence. Many of the students don't know how to use them, so I was able to teach them what they are and how to use them properly. A lot of my research is very complex and sometimes very hard to explain. So by being able to teach my information to a class of sixth graders I was able to make everything easy to understand and it has helped me prepare for my 2-hour. My Service Learning has helped me answer my EQ by being able to test out my answers and make them as accurate as possible.
